Can you imagine spending an afternoon exploring the mysteries of the universe without spending a single peso? Night of the Stars 2026 is coming to Monterrey with free activities for anyone curious about space, the planets, and the stars.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 14, at the UANL University Science Museum, where you can enjoy workshops, tours, talks, a mobile planetarium, and stargazing—weather permitting.
The best part is that the event will be completely free and open to the general public, so it’s a great opportunity to plan a unique outing with family or friends.
What will be happening at the 2026 Night of the Stars in Monterrey?
For six hours, the University Science Museum will become a space to explore astronomy through educational experiences and science outreach activities.
One of the main attractions will be stargazing, which will allow attendees to explore the night sky through telescopes, weather permitting.
There will also be a mobile planetarium, workshops, talks, and museum tours, where visitors can learn more about science and the phenomena of the universe.
In addition, the museum houses artifacts related to the history of astronomy in Nuevo León, including the first telescope built in the state and part of the collection from the former Alfa Planetarium.
An astronomy festival that has been held since 2009
Night of the Stars began in Mexico in 2009, during the International Year of Astronomy, and since then has become a celebration of science outreach that brings together professional astronomers, amateur astronomers, and anyone interested in learning about the cosmos.
Each edition aims to bring scientific knowledge to audiences of all ages through accessible activities and experiences that spark curiosity.
In 2026, Monterrey is once again joining the celebration with an event at the UANL that combines science, learning, and stargazing.
