The lineup kicks off with a highlight: the debut of one of the host nations. The United States’ opening match in Group D will be against Paraguay on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and it is the day’s marquee matchup, scheduled for prime time in central Mexico.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team sets out with the hope of getting off on the right foot against an Albirroja side that arrives with confidence; the most recent head-to-head record, however, favors the home team, which defeated Paraguay 2-1 in a friendly on November 15, 2025.
Earlier, Canada will kick off in Toronto on June 12, where it hosts Bosnia and Herzegovina to open Group B in front of its home crowd.
Since both groups make their debut today, all four teams are starting from scratch and competing for the first three points on their way to the Round of 16.
