You can already smell Christmas! And from this moment on everything will be Christmas markets, lights, carols, punch and of course, the lighting of the Christmas trees, but when will the Mexican History Museum light the pine tree?
The Mexican History Museum has already sent out an invitation to all of us who love the holidays to come together to experience the lighting ceremony of the pine tree located in the museum’s esplanade.
This ceremony will be important, as it is part of the 30th anniversary of the Mexican History Museum, and it is consolidated as an emblematic activity that marks the beginning of the Christmas season in Nuevo León and the start of the Macro Christmas.
The date is Saturday, December 7, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the museum’s esplanade, and this event will be 100% free admission, so you can go with the whole family.
What will the program of the event be like? The museums will close at 4:00 p.m. and from that moment on, access to the esplanade will be open to families who wish to experience the magic of the tree lighting. The first 3 thousand people who enter will receive the traditional lollipop that the museum gives away every year!
The “Christmas Lights” concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. and you can enjoy the talent of the Symphonic and Choral Collective under the direction of Oscar Serna and Gilberto Velázquez.
This collective has been presenting Christmas music for seven years in different cultural spaces in order to bring everyone closer to art and culture. You will hear classical pieces as well as arrangements of contemporary songs.
At 7:00 p.m. the lighting of the pine tree will take place and will be led by state authorities. It will be a magical event, full of lights and colors for the whole family!
More about the pine tree of the Mexican History Museum
This 2024 the pine tree is decorated with commonly used objects such as the popular bags used in our daily lives, openwork baskets of multiple and festive colors, whose design is inspired by Mexican papel picado.
The artist behind the creation? Sergio Rodriguez and his team, who once again transform simple and common objects into something extraordinary and unexpected.
