In case you didn’t know, Nuevo Leon is getting ready to open the doors of the largest Costco megastore in Mexico and Latin America. Here we tell you everything you need to know about this mega branch.
This Costco mega store will have thousands of national and international products and plans to be gigantic compared to the other existing branches of the same store.
The famous supermarket chain has been a success in Mexico for being a self-service store that has a club format with exclusive prices for members with Costco memberships. There are four types of memberships and they are based on the needs of each shopper:
- Gold membership: $600 pesos annual fee.
- Executive Gold Membership: $1,200 pesos annual fee
- Business membership: $600 pesos annual fee
- Executive Business Membership: $1,200 pesos annual fee
Costco has branches in the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and in Mexico alone there are 41 branches distributed throughout the country. The Costco megastore would be the 42nd branch in Mexico and will be built on a 120,000 square meter site.
Where will the Costco megastore be located and when will it open?
The Costco megastore will be located in Nuevo Leon, exactly in the municipality of General Escobedo, and will be located on Sendero Avenue in the Privadas de Anahuac neighborhood, between Camino Real Boulevard and the Sodimac Sendero store.
There is no definite opening date yet. However, the project plans to be completed during the last months of 2024, so we will surely be able to enjoy the mega store by 2025.
Rumors also state that the Costco mega store will be located within the new shopping plaza that will house Ikea Monterrey and a Liverpool, so it will undoubtedly be the new shopping hot spot.
