Just 20 kilometers from downtown Monterrey is the La Estanzuela Natural Park. Here an unmissable astronomical event called “Estanzuela Bajo las Estrellas” (Estanzuela Under the Stars) takes place and this August it is back.
This protected site is famous for its crystal clear waterfalls, canyons surrounded by vegetation and more. Now you can get to know it in a different and original way, because this event is a unique proposal: astronomical observation, camping in the forest and an immersive experience under the night sky.
Everything you should know about “Estanzuela Under the Stars”.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 30 and will be divided into two main activities:
The first, Astronomical Observation, will be from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and includes the use of telescopes, personalized astronomical guidance and the opportunity to observe stars, constellations and the moon, with trained staff to answer all your questions. The cost of this activity is $200 pesos, with a $100 deposit to reserve your place.
If you are looking for a full night, you can stay at the Astronomical Camping, which starts at 10:30 pm and ends at 8:00 am on Sunday, August 31. Here you can enjoy the observation of Saturn, nebulae, the moon at dawn, shooting stars and more, all with scientific explanations, surrounded by forest and without distractions. The price is $300 pesos, with an advance payment of $150.
The event is open to the general public, but with limited space, so it is recommended to reserve as soon as possible here.
Each attendee should bring their own tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, comfortable clothes, snacks and enough water. No campfires, loud speakers or alcohol are allowed.
This is your opportunity to experience something different in Monterrey: a night under the stars, in a natural park, accompanied by science, silence and connection.
