Only 20 kilometers from downtown Monterrey is the La Estanzuela Natural Park, a protected site famous for its crystalline waterfalls, canyons surrounded by vegetation and more. Now you can get to know it in a different and original way at La Estanzuela Bajo las Estrellas.
This protected natural park is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental and is an ideal place to observe the flora and fauna of the area.
If you are a nature lover, you cannot miss this place during the day, since it is open from Monday to Sunday from 7:00 to 17:00 hours and has different access fees:
- Andador Trail: $40 pesos from the lower part to the third bridge.
- Camino al Cielo: $60 pesos to visit the rest area, viewpoint and waterfall.
- Children under 5 years old: Free with access to the walkway.
- Inapam: $20 pesos with access to the walkway.
You can buy your tickets online in advance by downloading the Nuevo León passport application to avoid lines at the ticket office.
About the astronomical night of La Estanzuela Under the Stars
Visiting La Estanzuela during the day is incredible, but experiencing it at night is spectacular! A magical night full of astronomy and nature awaits you.
The first thing you should know is that this event is organized by Parks and Wildlife and the Astronomical Society of Nuevo Leon.
This edition will be special, because that day there will be a full moon and our majestic natural satellite will be the protagonist of the night.
You will enjoy an astronomical talk about the cosmos, observe with telescopes and learn more about astrophotography under the starry sky.
La Estanzuela Bajo las Estrellas will take place on Thursday , July 10 at
19:00 hours and is a limited capacity event. You can register in advance here.
The cost of this event is $200 per person. However, an advance payment of $100 pesos is required by wire transfer to the Parks and Wildlife account in order to reserve your place. The rest is paid in cash on the day of the event.
We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking along the rustic trail, and wear appropriate clothing to enjoy the night weather.
