FIFA put an end to rumors about a possible time change for the match between Mexico and England. The Round of 16 match will be played on July 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Azteca Stadium, as originally scheduled.
On Friday morning, rumors began to circulate about a possible rescheduling of the match to 12:00 p.m. The proposal arose due to a forecast of rain and possible thunderstorms in Mexico City, a situation that caused concern among organizers and fans.
However, following several discussions between the federations involved and tournament officials, it was decided to keep the originally scheduled time unchanged.
FIFA is sticking to the original kickoff time for Mexico vs. England
According to the official schedule, Mexico and England will take the field at Azteca Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on July 5 to play one of the most anticipated matches of the Round of 16.
The confirmation comes after hours of speculation that kept fans on edge, awaiting any official announcement. Ultimately, FIFA decided to stick to the established schedule and proceed with the original plan for the match.

Authorities announced that the decision was made in response to the consistently high turnout at the FIFA Fan Fest in Parque Fundidora, at the Macroplaza, and at Parque del Agua; as a result, the capacity of the Macroplaza alone will be doubled.
