We tell you about the new space that will protect the flora and fauna of the area Here everything about the Water Park!
The biggest soccer party in the world is coming, because in 2026 Mexico, Canada and the United States will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For this reason, the areas where the different soccer matches will take place are already being prepared.
A total of 10 matches will be played in Mexico and three main stadiums will be used:
- Azteca Stadium in CDMX
- Akron Stadium in Guadalajara
- BBVA Stadium in Monterrey
To serve as a tourist attraction for the 2026 World Cup and possible sub-host of the fan fest, the construction of the new Parque del Agua (Water Park) has already begun.
What will the new Water Park be like?
This park is also being built as part of Nuevo Leon’s 200th anniversary legacy and promises to be the best in Latin America.
The park is being built next to the BBVA Stadium, in what used to be the old Magic Forest, and the design is intended to be a lung of the city that will have a water and ecological vocation, which will turn it into an urban sanctuary.
Parque del Agua will occupy 80 hectares and will be the size of Parque Fundidora. It will have water catchment for neighboring neighborhoods, creating a natural water space that will respect the La Silla River and take care of the forest.
It aims to take advantage of the ecological and sustainable theme, protecting the flora and fauna. It will have a zoo area where there will be animals of different species!
One of the main attractions of the park will be the snake-shaped corridor. Here you will find commercial areas and an amphitheater to watch plays or enjoy outdoor concerts.
On the other hand, this space will also have areas for physical activity, bicycle corridors and spaces for different recreational activities.
When will it be ready?
The Water Park is expected to be ready by December 2025, as it has to be completed before the 2026 World Cup.
This project was presented as the most ambitious ecological and fauna conservation park in the history of Nuevo León, and joins the renovation of Fundidora Park, the Macroplaza, as well as the construction of La Huasteca Park.
