Let’s explore our city on wheels! Get your helmet out because it is now possible to travel through streets, parks and emblematic places on scooters and electric bicycles in Monterrey. The micromobility pilot program that will allow the rental of these units has already started.
This pilot program will allow Monterrey residents to make more sustainable trips and to travel around the city with an alternative to the automobile.
How do electric scooters and bicycles work in Monterrey?
We already have a new way to get around! The government of Nuevo León, together with the app Lime, has installed in different parts of the city an alternative form of transportation.
To rent scooters and electric bicycles in Monterrey, all you have to do is download the Lime app, locate on the map the available units closest to you and scan the QR code to start on wheels.
The rental cost is $2.50 per minute of travel plus a fixed price for unlocking each scooter or electric bike, so keep in mind that the rate may vary depending on the duration of your trip.
It is worth mentioning that the first month the unlocking of units is free. So run to download the app and be among the first to use this micromobility system that equals that of other places in the world, such as Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro.
So far, there are already about 150 electric units in important and busy points of our city, such as the Macroplaza, Fundidora Park, Paseo Santa Lucia and more.
With this transportation proposal, we seek to offer more mobility options so that the people of Monterrey can reach our destinations by alternative routes and polluting less to the planet. Don’t forget to wear protection and drive with caution.
