What does the Altar de Muertos mean?
The Altar de Muertos is an offering known for combining pre-Hispanic customs in Mexico with the Catholic religion. It is undoubtedly a classic of the Day of the Dead season and characteristic of Mexican culture.
It is said that this ofrenda helps the deceased to find their way home during the days when the dead visit us, and food, drink or things they used to enjoy are usually placed in the ofrenda.
