In these weeks you can’t miss the pan de muerto, papel picado, ofrendas. And you can’t miss these incredible plans that celebrate to the fullest these dates that commemorate those who are in the afterlife.
Visit Xantoluz, the Day of the Dead theme park.

This theme park brings together the best of our Day of the Dead roots and traditions in Monterrey. You can enjoy a Legends Pavilion, alebrijes area, a cemetery, games, food area and a stunning representation of the Mictlan, the underworld of the Mexica.

2. Meet the Immersive Altar of the Dead

You can’t miss this original and creative ofrenda! The Faculty of Visual Arts of the UANL collaborated to make possible this magnificent altar of 260 cubic meters that has technology such as environmental sounds, videomapping and aromas for the public to live a sensory experience when visiting it. The work pays tribute to characters such as Cepillín, Celso Piña and Piporro,
This show will immerse you in the mysticism of the Day of the Dead in Monterrey. You will be able to listen to songs such as “Dios nunca muere”, “La bruja” and “La llorona” by an ensemble of violins, viola and cello by candlelight. In the darkness, you will appreciate seasonal theme music and also some Halloween classics, such as “Ghostbusters”.

4. Surprise yourself with the wonderful skulls at the Paseo de Catrinas.

The catrina is one of the most important historical characters in the Day of the Dead in our country. That’s why the Catrinas and Skulls Catwalk is back in its second edition, where you will be able to see how these representative figures of the season are full of tradition, culture and fashion. Your ticket to this event will contribute to the donation to indigenous communities in the metropolitan area of Monterrey.

5. Enjoy the Monterrey Skulls Parade

Get ready to see calaveras, catrines, alebrijes and more passing through the streets of our city. This parade that will go through the Macroplaza and Plaza Zaragoza with themed comparsas will make us enjoy the Mexican traditions of Day of the Dead in Monterrey with music and a great festive atmosphere.

6. Take pictures in an incredible field of cempasúchil.

A great symbol of this season is the beautiful orange flower that decorates the ofrendas. And to make you feel as if you were in the Mictlan, we suggest you visit the magnificent cempasúchil garden located in the municipality of Santiago to marvel at its aroma and color. At the site you will find not only beautiful views and photo spots, but also food to calm your hunger, such as tamales and corn.

7. Celebrate the dead at the concert and ofrenda at the Mexican History Museum.

In this season we can’t miss the ofrendas that make us remember those who have passed away with lots of love, delicious food and creativity. That’s why the Mexican History Museum will have an ofrenda available for you to visit during this season dedicated to the dead. It will also have the concert “La fiesta de las ánimas” to remember that these dates are also lived with music.
From October 25 to November 2 (ofrenda). Concert on October 26
