Monterrey has a new way to explore the city. Capital Bus began operating in Monterrey on June 12, marking the launch of Nuevo León’s first hop-on, hop-off tourist service —an initiative that allows visitors to discover some of the metropolitan area’s most iconic landmarks from a double-decker panoramic bus.
The experience is designed for both tourists and city residents who want to rediscover the city from a different perspective. Aboard the distinctive open-top buses, passengers can enjoy spectacular views of the city as they travel along a 31-kilometer route that connects key points in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza García, and Guadalupe.
A tour of the city’s most iconic sites
The route includes stops at some of the region’s most visited attractions, such as Fundidora Park, Cintermex, Arena Monterrey, the MARCO Museum, the Government Palace, the Metropolitan Museum, Pavilion M, Plaza Fiesta San Agustín, Plaza Auriga San Pedro, BBVA Stadium, and Parque del Agua.
One of the service’s main attractions is that it operates on a Hop-On-Hop-Off model, meaning users can get on and off the bus as many times as they like while their pass is valid. This allows them to explore each destination at their own pace and continue the tour later from any of the available stops.
In addition, all buses are equipped with audio guides in Spanish and English, allowing passengers to learn more about the history, culture, and points of interest in each area visited.
Here’s how to ride the Capital Bus Monterrey
The tour’s starting point is at the stop located at Parque Fundidora/Cintermex. The complete circuit takes approximately two hours, although the duration may be longer if you decide to take advantage of the stops to visit the various attractions.
The arrival of Capital Bus in Monterrey is part of the expansion of this tourist service, which already operates in other cities across the country and aims to offer a comfortable, accessible, and sustainable alternative for exploring Mexico’s most important urban destinations.
