Why was there an earthquake in Monterrey?
Although the northeastern region of Mexico is not especially known for having high seismic activity, there are minor geological faults that could cause medium intensity movements.
This event has taken us all by surprise, and different users have reported feeling vibrations in their homes, cracks in walls and even objects that moved out of place due to the movement.
Civil Protection recommends keeping informed through official channels, in addition to checking electrical, gas and water installations for safety.
