Here we tell you what will be open on December 25 in Monterrey so you can plan without stress.
Although many businesses are closed for the holiday, there are supermarkets, stores and essential services that do operate on Christmas, either with normal hours or with special schedules.
In the case of supermarkets, some chains usually keep branches open. In the case of Chedraui the schedule will be from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, while Walmart will open doors from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. However, some branches may have different hours, so we recommend you check in advance.
Oxxo stores will remain closed, but 7-Eleven stores will be open and operating 24 hours as usual. Also, essential services, such as 24-hour pharmacies, tend to remain available for emergencies or quick purchases.
It is important for you to know that in Mexico, on December 25, no banks open since it is a mandatory day of rest established by the Federal Labor Law. However, ATMs operate 24 hours a day and will be available.
