If you like stars and are looking for something different to do near Monterrey, this event could become your next favorite getaway. The Nuevo León Astronomical Society will organize an astronomical camping trip in La Huasteca, an experience designed to observe the night sky, learn about constellations, and spend the night surrounded by nature.
The activity will take place on Saturday, April 4, with access starting at 4:00 p.m., at Quinta San Jorge, a space within the La Huasteca area that stands out for its mountainous landscapes and skies ideal for astronomical observation.
The idea is to bid farewell to the winter skies and welcome the spring skies on a night dedicated to looking up.
Observation with telescopes, astrophotography, and camping
During the day, there will be different activities for those who want to learn more about the universe or simply enjoy a different experience under the stars.
One of the most eagerly awaited moments will be astronomical observation with telescopes, where specialists will help identify stars, constellations, and other deep sky objects. There will also be explanations about the night sky, ideal for understanding what we are seeing and why it changes according to the season.
In addition, the program includes an astrophotography workshop, perfect for those who want to learn how to capture images of the night sky with their camera or cell phone.

The experience will also include recreational activities such as an astronomy lottery and access to the on-site pool, so you can enjoy the afternoon before sky observation begins.
The cost of participation is $350 per person (adults and children) and includes access to the space, parking, bathrooms, electricity, water, use of the pool, camping area, conference, photography workshop, and observation with telescopes.
Access will be on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and departure is scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 a.m., so you can spend the night camping on site. For more information and to make your reservation, you can call or write to 81 1503 5031.
If you’ve been wanting to take a trip to La Huasteca for a while, this could be the perfect excuse to reconnect with nature… and with the sky.
