Just a few days away from shouting “Viva Mexico”, this weekend the celebration of the Mexican Independence Day will begin with the Jolgorio Mexicano, a free show that will bring together the best of the musical tradition and cultural richness through dance.
With each dance, this event will take the public on a journey to different regions of the country until reaching our home, Nuevo Leon. To the rhythm of mariachi, drums and coastal sounds, it will remind us that Mexico has great artistic treasures.
Where and when will be the Mexican Jolgorio for national holidays?
Start warming up for the shout of September 15 this weekend with the Mexican Jolgorio that will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the esplanade of the Mexican History Museum.
This show will be in charge of the Ballet Folklórico Magisterial Nuevo León of Section 21 of the SNTE and admission is free, so arrive early to get a good spot to see the zapateado.

This is what the musical journey through Mexico will be like
As our country also tells its history through music, the Jolgorio Mexicano will be an experience that will travel from Aztec dance, Veracruz, Oaxacan, mariachi and the northern rhythms of the land of La Regia.
Thus, each dance will be a portrait of the past and memory of different places in Mexico. You will be able to see with your own eyes how the costumes, melodies and steps are part of the identity of the Mexican people.
Between the harp of the Bamba, the accordion of the “Popurrí Nuevo León” and the strength of the mariachi, this Mexican dance party will make you dance to each of the pieces that will be presented.
If you don’t know Oaxaca, Jalisco, Veracruz and other areas of Mexico, during these national holidays the Mexican Jolgorio will make you feel like you are in these places without having left Monterrey.
