Judges, prosecutors and lawyers have paraded through Monterrey’ s courtrooms for centuries. The Judicial Branch of the State of Nuevo León, established in 1824, has been key in the evolution of the justice system, adapting to each era in the region’s history. Now, a new trial is coming, but this time, the verdict is in your hands: it’s “The Jury Experience” Monterrey, the new immersive experience that turns you into a jury.
On selected dates over the next few months, the Versailles Theater is transformed into a courtroom where every argument counts. Take a seat, listen to all parties involved and decide between guilt or innocence. Tickets are on sale now, but seating is limited, so be sure to get yours as soon as possible.
What is “The Jury Experience”?
“The Jury Experience” combines live theater and audience participation to bring a powerful courtroom drama to life. In front of you, professional actors embody lawyers, witnesses and the defendant himself in a mock trial where you will be part of the jury. “The fate of the accused is in your hands” and it couldn’t be truer: for 60 minutes, you will have to make decisions that will test your sense of justice in a judicial process full of nuances, moral dilemmas and unexpected twists and turns.
What is the trial about?
The case puts a pressing dilemma on the table: autonomous cars and their impact on society. When one of these vehicles is involved in an accident, who should be held accountable? The manufacturer? The software developer? Or no one at all? As a juror, you’ll hear testimony, examine evidence, and reflect on safety standards, ethical responsibility, and technological reliability before making a decision that will (surely) set a precedent.
Everything you need to know about this event
At “The Jury Experience,” every detail is designed to give you the tension of a real trial. From opening arguments to closing arguments, everything takes place on a stage designed to the millimeter to replicate a courtroom, accessible only to those over 12 years of age.
“The Jury Experience” Monterrey will take place at the Versailles Theater, with performances on selected dates over the next few months. Do you have what it takes to do justice? As Perry Mason, the iconic television and literary lawyer, would say, “There is nothing so deceptive as a plain fact.”
